Sense of Vocation

Being called upon to serve the vision, the aims, all others and the desired outcomes. Creating purpose and direction. Collaboration and adaptation.

“Vocation” is derived from the Latin word vocare, “to be called.”

The overwhelming sense of vocation is present where we seek after and work passionately towards a valued purpose. We all want purpose in our lives and when shared with others, we find a mutually rewarding goal towards which we can all work.

Quantum people possess a sense of vocation. They feel called upon to serve, to give something back, to leave the world a better place than they found it. Quantum people want to make the world a better place. They want to be part of a team that works towards making life better for themselves and for others.

Having a sense of vocation goes much deeper than having an ambition or a goal. It is having a sense of purpose and direction in our lives, a sense of what we are here for, and of having found a path in life through which we can create a better world. Quantum leaders have a distinct sense of purpose, they create environments where the purpose is the main motivational driver and they build a team of Quantum people who all focus on the same outcome.

Having a sense of vocation resonates with the positive force in the universe driving the cosmos toward ever greater complexity, ever more order and information, and with the life force in complex adaptive systems that drives them both to sustain themselves and to evolve.” (Danah Zohar)
